A Message from Our Principal

Dr. Alex Rivera

July 2025

Dear Jackson Families,

I hope this letter finds you well and that you had an enjoyable and relaxing summer filled with memorable moments with family and friends. As we look ahead to the new school year, we are thrilled to welcome all of our students back to school on Wednesday, August 27. We can’t wait to see their smiling faces and to begin another exciting year of learning and growth together!

As we prepare to open our doors, I encourage you to visit both our school and district websites. There, you’ll find a wealth of helpful and up-to-date information, including important dates, school policies, curriculum resources, and more.

We will continue to use ParentSquare as our main communication platform. Through this tool, we will share weekly and monthly updates, upcoming events, and school news to keep you informed and connected throughout the year.

As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership. We value the strong collaboration between our school and families, and we invite you to join us in creating a school experience that is truly second to none. Together, we will make this year one of meaningful learning, growth, and success for every student.

Warmest regards,

Alex Rivera, Ed.D.

Fun Fact: Our school was named in honor of George Ancel Jackson (Mar 1882-Oct 1946) = son of Ancel T. and Abigail Jackson, members of a large Quaker family in Jericho. George worked as a banker in NYC. He never married and later lived with his sister Annie Titus Jackson, the widow of M. Franklin Jackson and his niece, Marion. George later served as treasurer of the Jericho Public Schools. Our school was named for him in 1957. --> Source: Jericho Public Library
